Today is New Years Eve for all that don't know that already. The home of the Norskis is very busy at the moment, as we clean and cook in making ready our house for about 25 people who will later join us in celebrating. On the menu for this evening is pulled-pork sandwiches, coleslaw and lots of Ginger Ale, a drink which has been a tradition on New Years Eve for many years among the Norskis. Can't wait till tonight!!!!

A Christmas Carol
Today we Norskis enjoyed a performance of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" at the Lakewood Playhouse. It was an overall good show, good effects, but I was particularly impressed with the performances of the "Ghost of Christmas Present", "Jacob Marley", and (the one that topped them all) "Young Ebby"/"Peter Cratchit"! The "Ghost of Christmas Present" was very funny and very much as described in the book; "Jacob Marley" was very haunting (completely terrifying in fact), as was appropriate; but "Young Ebby", ah! "Young Ebby" topped them all. There was just...something about him. His grace, his panache, the way he carried himself...I can't really explain it but...there was just something powerful, something magical about "Young Ebby"! Suffice it to say that "Young Ebby" has such a flair for acting, he stole the show! Took my breath away really...

Jul Eve Presang
On Jul Eve we, the Norskis woke up at about 8:00 am and started to open presang from our parents. I got an electric tooth brush, a book, a Norwegian shirt-pin, a Norwegian bumpersticker, and numerous small Norwegian flags! Later on in the day we went to our grandpa's house. There I got a Norwegian bumper sticker, a big Norwegian flag, a big road map of Norway, another Norwegian shirt pin, a Norwegian dice game, and a pair of awsome Norwegian sun glasses! The sun glasses are really cool because they have Norwegian flags on the lenses. The shirt pin is very kjorlig also. It says "Improve your image, be seen with a Norwegian".

Slushy Christmas
Well, we DID have a white Christmas (which was fairly nice) but it was an old, dirty, slushy sort of white that you wouldn't really want to be outside in. I wish we'd get some fresh snow, but it's been so warm lately I think rain is the only possibility...

Sledding and Stuff
Yesterday I and the other Norskis had the pleasure of sledding and ginger-bread house making with the Mume brothers. The usual Norski hill was unsuitable for sledding yesterday so we went to a slightly shorter but steeper location. It was a lystig time!
Snow is coming down hard with a bit of rain mixed in. Looks like we're in for a hvit Jul!

Games
I was thoroughly disappointed today when I lost a game of Clue to Sven. I knew who the culprit was, how he did it, and where he did it (largely thanks to Ma'an's woeful stealth abilities), but the random turn order let Sven get a crack at guessing before I did! The worst part is, Sven found out where the murder was perpetrated by clues he gained from my last turn! Oh well...I got back at him by beating him at Chess.
We all had some fun sledding yesterday. It was the best slippy-slidy snow we've had so far this week...

Introductions...
We the Norskis would like to introduce ourselves. We are Knute, Ma'an, and Steivenhoff (Sven). Ja! Now you know our names!
First Post!
We the Norskis are excited about the opening of NorskiFyorski and hope you enjoy it.
You know, today we were eating some Swedish Knockabrod. We highly recommend it! It's crisp, it's crunchy, and best enjoyed with a bit of butter and some cheddar cheese. You can find it at your local IKEA for only $2.50! What a deal, eh?
Today we had a lot of snow, around seven inches and as we were enjoying it we were reminded of the lovely snows of the fatherland. Ah! Norway! To be there again!
